Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy Summer Table

I love the slow, lazy days of summer. I let the kids stay up later than they should; we eat ice cream for dinner more often than we should; and we lounge in our pj's way longer than we should. Summer might bring unbearable heat (I live in Houston), but it also brings a lightness and brightness that I so desperately need in my life, and I love when my summer decor matches that mood.

I loved my late spring/early summer table with neutral and green beach tones. The garland table runner, lavender, and jadeite plates were just perfect so I wanted to keep a lot of the same elements for my summer table. A good rule of thumb for my summer decorating is to just throw in some lemons, real or fake.

I didn't want the table to be too busy so I removed the woven placemats and milk jars. I kept the shiplap chargers (you can buy them from me here), the glass plates from Amazon, and the jadeite plates from World Market. I kept the runner as is but added in some lemons for pops of color.

For the place settings, I used a faux eucalyptus spray (cut apart from stems I already had on hand) and my linen napkins from Kitch Studios (you can find them here).

I also got the gorgeous rug from Well Woven. It's the Goa Blue Vintage, and you can find it here. I am obsessed with their rugs (amazing quality for great prices), and I love the deep dusty blue tones in this one.

I added a few lemons to my dough bowl already filled with greenery and candles so that side of the dining room would tie in with the table.

The runner draping off the table gives it that artless, whimsical look like just threw it all on there. Never mind the fact that it took me a good 20 minutes to get the table runner just right. That's it, folks! Easy summer tablescape. I kept what I had for sporing and threw in some lemons. Also, I'm just now noticing the uneven spacing of the baskets hanging on the wall. Le sigh.
