Christmas Mini Wreaths

If you follow me on Instagram @sawdust.angel, you know how much I love decorating my dining room and setting my 12-foot farmhouse table. On the down side, constantly changing out 12 place settings for different seasons and holidays can get expensive real fast. Since I blew my Christmas decorating budget on the centerpiece (stay tuned), I needed to the keep the place settings cheap.

I used my shiplap chargers that I make myself, but you can buy them here, plates I already had from Walmart (find them here), and inexpensive green napkins from Target (find them here). These mini wreaths are adorable, and it only costs $6 for 8 place settings. That's right, people! Less than $1 per place setting. That's my kind of craft. Let me show you how I made them.

For supplies, you will need mini grapevine wreath forms (I bought mine from Hobby Lobby for $3.99 for a pack of 8), a couple sprigs of red berries (also from Hobby Lobby for $1.29 each), wire cutters (which are pretty much only used to cut florals in my house), and these mini banners, which I provide as a free download here. You can print the first page, which has Christmas phrases, or the second page of blank banners where you can write whatever you like. I recommend printing the banners on cardstock.

After printing the banners, cut along the black line. Then, fold along the gray lines as seen in the pictures above.

For the wreaths, start by separating a couple sprigs of berries from the main stem and use your wire cutters to cut them off at the base. Next, tuck a sprig into the wreath so that it stays. Since the sprig has wire on the inside, you can form it however you want. I wanted mine to follow the shape of the wreath. I added a second sprig so that I have berries around about half the wreath, which leaves room for the banner.

Tuck in the banners however you like. I tried to use the berries to help hold the banners in place. There you have it: cheap but adorable place setting markers for your Christmas table.
